In the Media

Over the past couple of years I have been quoted for news stories in both print and video formats. No, it is not SportsCenter or The Rachel Maddow Show but each of them have been great. I have received these opportunities thanks to getting a chance to engage with reporters both via twitter and at events I've attended

Ayaz Hyder of Piscataway, New Jersey, is one of many who feel the holiday -- one of the most important in the Islamic calendar -- has been hijacked by whether or not the Rev. Terry Jones, the head of a small church in Gainesville, Florida, will go ahead with his Quran burning plans.
"He got what he wanted out of this. His 15 minutes of fame," he said. "I will have more people at my place for Eid this year than this guy has congregants but yet he's still dominating the headlines."

Among those standing in line, holding a blue ticket to the event, was Ayaz Hyder of Piscataway who said he us a big fan of President Barack Obama.
"I am here today for Joe Biden,'' Hyder said. "I'll be at Rutgers tomorrow for Clinton and for Obama at FDU) Fairleigh Dickinson University on Wednesday, I have a big passion for politics.''

Tweet of the Week

"Should I be near a phone the next time the Raiders pick? Maybe they'll pick me.''
-- Tweet from sahyder1 to me on Twitter at 9:09 p.m. ET Saturday, following the Raiders' reach for wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey at 7 and the strangest pick of day one, safety Michael Mitchell, at No. 47 overall. How strange? Mitchell was the 73rd-rated safety on ESPN draftnik Mel Kiper's board. Not the 73rd-rated player.
